Core Responsibilities & Duties Customer Service & Intake: Greet customers, listen to vehicle issues, and document concerns for technicians. Estimation & Documentation: Prepare detailed service orders, cost estimates, and communicate repair needs. Workflow Management: Schedule service appointments and coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion. Communication: Update customers on vehicle status and get authorization for additional repairs. Technical Advice: Advise on necessary repairs, warranty coverage, and maintenance schedules. Quality Control: Perform final inspections to ensure repairs meet standards. Billing & Delivery: Explain final invoices and handle customer inquiries professionally.
Job Qualifications & Skills Experience: Previous experience as a service advisor, service writer, or in customer service within the automotive industry. Technical Knowledge: Robust understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repairs. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to bridge technical staff and clients. Computer Proficiency: Experience with DMS (Dealer Management Systems) and scheduling software. Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a quick-paced setting. Sales Ability: Aptitude for promoting services and upselling maintenance packages.
Common Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (automotive training is a plus). Valid drivers license.
