Position: Production Head– DSP / SRP Designation: AGM / DGM / GM Department: Production – DSP / SRP /PP Industry: Biotechnology / / Bio- Fermentation Experience: 15 Years Location: Kathua, Jammu Job Purpose The Production Head – DSP /PP/ SRP will lead all downstream processing and secondary recovery operations including filtration, centrifugation, purification, extraction, concentration, drying, and product recovery processes.The role will ensure efficient downstream operations with focus on product quality, recovery efficiency, process optimization, and regulatory compliance. Reporting To - Site Head– VP Key Responsibilities DSP&SRP Operations - Lead all downstream processing and secondary recovery operations. - Ensure smooth execution of filtration, centrifugation, chromatography, extraction, evaporation, and drying activities. - Achieve production and recovery targets with optimum efficiency. Process Optimization- Improve product recovery, purity, and process efficiency. - Reduce losses during downstream operations. - Monitor critical process parameters and optimize cycle times. Quality&Compliance - Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and quality systems. - Maintain accurate documentation and batch records. - Coordinate with QA/QC for product release activities. - Handle deviations, investigations, CAPA, and audit observations. Equipment&Maintenance Coordination - Coordinate with Engineering for preventive and breakdown maintenance. - Ensure readiness of centrifuges, dryers, filtration systems, and process equipment. - Improve equipment utilization and uptime. Team Leadership - Lead and mentor DSP/SRP teams across shifts.- Conduct technical and compliance training programs. - Build a culture of accountability and operational discipline. Safety&EHS - Ensure safe handling of chemicals and process materials. - Maintain compliance with EHS procedures and plant safety requirements. - Promote safe work practices across operations. Educational Qualification - BSc. / MSc. / B.Tech in Biotechnology / Bioprocess / Chemical Engineering- Additional certifications in GMP / Lean preferred Experience Required - 15 years in downstream processing / Solvent Recovery - Strong experience in purification and recovery systems. - Exposure to fermentation-based Bio manufacturing preferred.
