The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the financial health of the organization by ensuring accurate accounting, timely payments, compliance with statutory requirements, and the preparation of financial reports. The role plays a key part in accounting and bookkeeping, financial planning, donor reporting, and strengthening internal financial systems.
WHAT WOULD YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Accounting & Bookkeeping -
>
> > >
> > 1. Verify and process bills, invoices, purchase/work orders, and all supporting documents from staff and vendors. > >
> > 2. Ensure all staff reimbursements are in line with organizational policies. > >
> > 3. Record daily financial transactions in Tally using appropriate cost centers. > >
> > 4. Maintain books of accounts with complete and accurate supporting documentation. > >
> > >
>
- Payments & Payroll -
>
> > >
> > 1. Process staff and vendor payments after necessary checks. > >
> > 2. Prepare and process monthly payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement. > >
> > 3. Maintain accurate payroll records, including statutory deductions and advantages. > >
> > 4. Generate payment requests in accordance with project budgets and grant agreements. > >
> > >
>
- Reconciliation -
>
> > >
> > 1. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements in Tally. > >
> > 2. Maintain and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and staff advances. > >
> > 3. Support the preparation and reconciliation of project activity budgets. > >
> > 4. Check and reconcile expense statements from field offices. > >
> > >
>
- Financial & Donor Reporting -
>
> > >
> > 1. Prepare and submit regular financial reports and cash flow statements for internal use and donors. > >
> > 2. Monitor expenditures against budget allocations and report discrepancies. > >
> > 3. Maintain accurate and updated records of donor funding and grant compliance. > >
> > 4. Assist in reconciling donor contributions and maintaining related records. > >
> > >
>
- Statutory & Compliance -
>
> > >
> > 1. Prepare TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) reports, generate challans, make payments, and coordinate with the Chartered Accountant for filings. > >
> > 2. Prepare EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) reports for payment processing and compliance. > >
> > 3. Maintain and update employees' Income Tax deduction sheets for compliance and reporting. > >
> > 4. Prepare quarterly fund receipt reports to support statutory return filings. > >
> > 5. Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements. > >
> > 6. Support internal, statutory, and donor audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications. > >
> > 7. Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures. > >
> > >
>
- Coordination & Support -
>
> > >
> > 1. Respond to and resolve finance-related queries from field staff and teams. > >
> > 2. Maintain organized records of financial documentation, including statutory, donor, and internal files. > >
> > 3. Sign off on vouchers after thorough verification. > >
> > 4. Support process improvement initiatives within the finance department. > >
> > 5. Contribute to the overall success of the finance team by performing related tasks as required.

> > 6. Any other duties assigned to the finance department. > >

> WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelorâs (Masterâs preferred) in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
- 3â5 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit/development sector.
- Proficiency in Tally & Excel, strong financial accuracy, knowledge of statutory compliance (TDS, EPF, IT), and donor reporting.
- Organized, detail-focused, solution-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating across teams.
