Role Overview:
As a Senior Product Development Technologist, your primary purpose in this role is to lead the new product development for wet-retorted products. You will be responsible for delivering secure, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions for the Consumer segment. Your accountability lies in translating customer and market needs into commercially scalable products through robust formulation, thermal process design, and cross-functional execution.
Responsibilities Leading end-to-end development of wet retorted products such as sauces, gravies, and ready-to-eat systems from concept to commercialization. Applying Design to Value (DTV) principles to ensure right-first-time delivery, product safety, shelf-life stability, and manufacturability under retort processing conditions. Driving disciplined R&D; project management to achieve NPD milestones, accelerate internal technology, and flavor utilization, and deliver projects on time while maintaining competitive differentiation. Partnering with customers through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and site engagements to support innovation discussions, address technical challenges, and build a strong opportunity pipeline. Developing and approving product and raw material specifications, including ingredient declarations, nutritional data, labeling, and packaging requirements suitable for wet retort processing. Leading technology transfer and scale-up of current or improved wet retorted products to Operations and QA, ensuring process robustness, repeatability, and compliance with food safety and quality requirements. Proficiency in transitioning products from kitchen/lab scale to mass industrial production, including managing production trials and first commercial runs.
Experience & Qualifications: B.
Tech Food
Technology, MSc Food Science, Chemistry from tiers 1 or 2 institute. 6
- 8 years in Product Development, specifically within the
