JD for ODI: Primary Skills : ODI (Oracle Data Integrator), SQL, Python, Spark, Data Lakes, Dimensional Data Modelling Job Description : We are building a next-generation Data Lakehouse for a large enterprise customer, by integrating data from multiple sources into a contemporary three-layer Bronze + Silver + Gold architecture on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer (Team Lead or Associate Architect level) with hands-on experience in Oracle ADW, ODI 14c, OCI Data Flow (PySpark), and the broader OCI ecosystem to join the core delivery team. This is a hands-on role. You will be designing and building production-grade ETL pipelines, writing PySpark ingestion jobs, developing ODI Knowledge Modules and Groovy SDK scripts, implementing SCD1/SCD2 transformation logic, and contributing to the data quality framework across all three layers. Essential experience:
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on data engineering experience on projects involving large-scale data migration, ETL development, or data warehouse / lakehouse build.
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI 12c or 14c) — specifically the design of Mappings, Procedures, Knowledge Modules, Packages, and Load Plans. You understand the difference between the logical and physical design layers in ODI, and you have configured custom IKMs or LKMs on at least one production project.
- Comfortable writing PySpark, including reading from JDBC sources, applying transformations, and writing to Oracle ADW.
- Practical experience with Apache Spark concepts — DataFrames, partitioning, parallelism, schema inference — and you understand how to tune Spark jobs for throughput rather than latency.
- Worked with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and are familiar with its connection model (wallet-based authentication), partitioning strategies, and query optimisation. You write clean, performant SQL and PL/SQL and are comfortable with window functions, MERGE statements, and analytical functions.
- Solid understanding of dimensional data modelling — specifically the Kimball star-schema approach, including fact and dimension table design, slowly changing dimensions (SCD Type 1 and Type 2), surrogate key strategies, and grain definition. You have built or contributed to at least one Silver or Gold layer on a medallion architecture project. Strongly preferred:
- Experience with OCI Data Flow — registering applications, submitting runs, monitoring execution, configuring cluster shapes, and writing OCI SDK calls from Groovy or Python.
- Familiarity with OCI broadly — including Object Storage, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Instance Principal authentication, VCN networking, and OCI Vault.
- Experience writing ODI Groovy SDK scripts for programmatic repository manipulation — bulk scenario generation, KM assignment, or metadata import. Technical Skills Summary
