Job Title: –Senior Executive- Tourism Location: Delhi Experience: 5-7 years Qualifications: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Marketing, Mass Communication or Tourism Job Purpose For assisting the Tourism and Media and Entertainment verticals of the Chamber in engaging with Government bodies and related organisations on behalf of the members, provide policy briefs and assistance, connect with industry members and organise events. Key Responsibilities
- Constant interaction with government agencies like central and state ministries, autonomous bodies and public sector organisations in the Tourism sector to keep abreast with policy changes and initiatives and provide timely inputs on behalf of the industry
- Help organise industry interactions and mobilise partnerships and participation for the various programmes in the sector. Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action taken points.
- Compile and collate data related to the sectors and prepare policy briefs, talking points, white papers and presentations for use by senior management as well as for presenting to members, governments and other stakeholders. Prepare, maintain and update database of key stakeholders, contacts and data related to the sectors.
- Maintain sponsor pipelines and connect with potential sponsors, close partnerships, maintain records and accounts and follow up regarding payments, deliverables, etc.
- Assist in design and execution events like conferences, conclaves and roundtables related to the sector. Identify potential speakers and participants, contacting them and liaising with relevant departments for logistics.
- Have constant interactions with Council members and keep them updated through newsletters, emails, etc.
- Identify potential members and grow membership. Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with specific qualification in marketing/ tourism/ mass communication.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience work experience preferably in a chamber of commerce or related organisation dealing with public policy and government relations.
- Experience in working with travel, tourism and hospitality related organisations is highly desirable. Skills (Soft and Functional)
- Stakeholder Management: Robust skills in engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders including government officials, industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs.
- Policy Advocacy: Expertise in analysing market data, policy development and have understanding of industry trends.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to represent ASSOCHAM effectively and build networks.
- Event Management: Proficiency in managing events and conferences including vendor coordination, exhibition setup, etc.
- Financial and Data management: Prepare, maintain and manage budgets related to the vertical, accounts receivables and follow ups. Prepare and maintain relevant databases related to the sectors.
- Networking: Strong ability to build partnerships and collaborations.
- Presentation skills: IT Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CoPilot) for document preparation, data analysis, and presentations.
- Email and Calendar Management using MS Outlook or similar tools for scheduling and coordination.
- Virtual Meeting Platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet) for webinars, meetings, and online events.
- Online Research Skills to gather industry data, track policy updates, and prepare briefing notes.
- Familiar with the use of Artificial Intelligence tools, including Claude, Gemini and similar platforms, for enhancing efficiency and communication.
