A leading NBFC is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Risk Officer BFS professional to establish and lead a robust enterprise-wide risk management framework across its housing finance and retail financial services business.

Chief Risk Officer BFS Key Responsibilities

Risk Framework & Governance

• Develop, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements

• Define risk appetite and establish risk management policies aligned with overall corporate strategy

• Strengthen governance standards and enterprise-wide risk management practices

Risk Identification & Mitigation

• Lead identification, assessment, and monitoring of credit, market, operational, compliance, and regulatory risks

• Implement proactive risk mitigation strategies across business functions

• Oversee stress testing, scenario analysis, and enterprise risk evaluation exercises

• Ensure effective monitoring of portfolio quality and emerging risk indicators

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to RBI, SEBI, and other regulatory guidelines applicable to NBFC and housing finance businesses

• Prepare and present detailed risk reports, governance updates, and key risk indicators to senior management and Board members

• Coordinate with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders on risk governance matters

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with business units, compliance teams, and internal audit teams to ensure a cohesive approach to enterprise risk management

• Maintain strong relationships with regulators, external auditors, and strategic stakeholders

• Support leadership teams in strategic business and governance decisions

Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing risk management team

• Foster a culture of accountability, governance excellence, and continuous improvement

• Drive solid collaboration between risk, compliance, business, and operational teams

Chief Risk Officer BFS Qualifications & Experience

• CA qualification with professional certifications such as FRM or CFA preferred

• Minimum 20 years of experience in risk management within housing finance, NBFCs, or financial services organizations

• Strong expertise in enterprise risk management frameworks and governance practices

• Proven experience in developing and executing risk strategies across financial services businesses

• Deep understanding of credit risk, operational risk, compliance risk, and regulatory frameworks

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and support strategic business decisions

• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities within complex financial environments
