Job Title: Hotel Operations Manager
Location: Munnar
Reports To: General Manager / Managing Director
Job Summary:
The Hotel Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring high standards of guest service, operational efficiency, and profitability. This role involves close coordination with all departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Sales to deliver an exceptional guest experience and meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Supervise and coordinate daily hotel operations across departments. Monitor occupancy, revenue, and operational costs; implement cost control measures. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and brand guidelines. Oversee vendor relationships, maintenance schedules, and compliance matters.
Guest Service Excellence: Maintain high standards of customer service at all guest touchpoints. Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Review guest feedback regularly and implement improvements where necessary.
Team Leadership & Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and support departmental heads and team members. Conduct regular training, performance reviews, and team meetings. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Financial Oversight: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Track departmental performance and suggest improvements. Monitor inventory, procurement, and cost-efficiency.
Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local laws, fire safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations. Conduct audits and regular inspections to ensure safety and service standards.
Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related field (Master's preferred). Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in hotel operations with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Skills: Solid leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent communication and decision-making Financial acumen and problem-solving ability Familiar with PMS (Property Management Systems), POS, and hotel software
Preferred Attributes: Knowledge of hospitality trends and guest experience innovations Multi-departmental exposure in mid-size to large hotel/resort operations Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
