Job: Furniture Designer, Bangalore Urban

Seeking a highly experienced design leader with a Bachelor's/Master's degree in

Design or related field and 10+ years of New Product Development/Residential

Cabinetry experience. Must excel in team leadership, design strategy, cross-functional

collaboration, visual identity, user experience, and client interaction. Responsibilities

include team leadership, design strategy implementation, cross-functional

collaboration, client interaction, showcase projects development, trend awareness,

and budget management.

Skill / Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Architecture or related field.

10+ years of ongoing experience in a design leadership role, preferably in the

context of New Product Development/Leading Residential Cabinetry Projects.

Proven experience in managing and leading design teams for showrooms &

product development.

Strong portfolio showcasing successful project leadership and collaboration

with external designers.

In-depth knowledge of Material application, design strategies, user

experience, and visual identity development.

In-depth knowledge of design principles, user experience (UX), and user

interface (UI) design.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to think strategically and translate ideas into tangible design solutions.

Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Figma, etc.)

Readiness to undertake work related trips PAN India.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:

Oversee and spearhead the operations of the Design team within the NPD and

Showroom Department.

Provide guidance and mentorship to designers, fostering a collaborative and

productive work environment.

2. Design Strategy:

Develop and implement design strategies for current and upcoming products.

Ensure creative consistency is maintained throughout the design and

development stages.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments to ensure the success of products.

Engage in cross-functional collaboration to integrate design seamlessly into

the overall product development process.

4. Visual Identity and User Experience:

Shape the visual identity and user experience of products and services.

Maintain a keen focus on user-centric design principles.

5. Collaboration:

Collaborate with renowned designers and artists to pitch and develop colossal

projects & products.

Establish and maintain relationships with external creative professionals.

Attend and pitch-in for various PR activities related to architectures and

designs on behalf of the company.

6. Client Interaction and Project Leadership:

Identify and interact with High Net Worth Individual (HNI) clients.

Lead showcase projects of HNI clients from design conceptualisation to

closure, ensuring client satisfaction.

7. Showcase Projects and Showrooms:

Strategise and develop showcase client projects and showrooms on an annual

basis.

Curate an impactful and engaging showcase of the company's design

capabilities.

8. Trend Awareness and Technical Understanding:

Foster a creative environment by introducing the design team to industry

trends.

Understand the technicalities of design-production parameters within the

company.

9. Budget Management:

Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively plan & manage design budgets.
