Metallurgy Engineer | Manufacturing | Karur

Role & responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EHS, Quality Standards, and Manufacturing SOPs
- Prepare Heat Treatment Work Instructions (Hardening, Tempering, Normalising, SQF)
- Conduct Failure Analysis & Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for rejected parts
- Monitor and ensure consistent heat treatment process quality
- Perform Process Validation (In-house & Vendor Audits)
- Conduct Supplier Quality Audits (Coating & Heat Treatment vendors)
- Inspect Incoming Raw Materials Metallurgical Testing & Clearance
- Handle Laboratory Equipment Calibration & Maintenance
- Train operators on Quality Processes & Work Instructions
- Ensure compliance with Quality Systems (QMS / IATF standards) Preferred candidate profile
- Degree/Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering
- Experience in Heat Treatment & Metallurgical Lab Operations
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Spectro Analysis (OES Spectrometer)
- Hardness Testing (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers)
- Microstructure & Macro Etching Analysis
- Expertise in
- Heat Treatment Furnaces (SQF, Rotary, Induction, Mesh Belt)
- Surface Coating Techniques (Zinc, Nickel, Chrome, Phosphating)
- Familiarity with Quality Tools (7 QC Tools, Root Cause Analysis)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) Certifications like NADCAP, NDT, API, QMS, IATF 16949, DOE, EHS are a plus Knowledge of Welding Processes is an added advantage Behavioral Skills:
