Firmware Developer for US Client- Experience 3-6 years …, Dehradun

We are looking for a ESP32 Firmware Developer with hands-on expertise in Modbus protocols, along with a strong background in embedded firmware development to join our growing embedded systems team. If you have a strong foundation in C/C++ , experience with Arduino IDE, FreeRTOS, Nordic chip suite and know your way around industrial communication standards, this role is for you. We are also looking for someone who has grown beyond individual contribution and can take ownership of modules, mentor juniors, and drive system-level improvements. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing firmware for industrial IoT devices built on ESP32 platforms. As part of our embedded systems team, you’ll collaborate closely with hardware and backend engineers to deliver robust, high-performance, and scalable solutions for real-world industrial environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Firmware Ownership: Architect, design, and develop production-grade firmware for ESP32-based embedded systems.
- Protocol Integration: Implement and optimize Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, and other protocol stacks like Zigbee, ensure interoperability and compliance with industrial standards.
- RTOS Development: Design task scheduling, inter-task communication, and resource management using FreeRTOS.
- System Optimization: Drive improvements in latency, reliability, and power efficiency for embedded systems.
- Hardware Collaboration: Work with hardware engineers on schematics, board bring-up, and firmware validation.
- Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Lead issue resolution using debugging tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and UART analyzers.
- Documentation & Standards: Maintain clean, modular code with clear technical documentation, API references, and workflow diagrams.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, perform code reviews, and help raise overall team capability. Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 3
- 6 years in embedded firmware development with ESP32.
- Languages: Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Protocols: In-depth experience with Modbus RTU and TCP/IP.
- RTOS: Working knowledge of FreeRTOS.
- Tools: Arduino IDE , Nordic chip suite, Familiarity with oscilloscope, JTAG, UART analyzers, etc.
- Electronics: Understanding of circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO).
- Debugging: Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field. Nice to Have:
- Experience with MQTT, CAN bus, or BACnet.
- Familiarity with OTA updates and firmware bootloaders.
