Production Head - Reputed Machine Building OEM (Mysuru)

Position Overview: A Production Manager in Machine Tools Manufacturing plans, directs, and oversees all production activities, focusing on efficiency, quality, and safety for machine tool assembly and components, involving production scheduling, resource allocation, team leadership, budget management, equipment maintenance, quality control, and driving continuous improvement using lean principles to meet business goals Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling: Develops and implements production plans, schedules, and workflows to meet demand, deadlines, and budgets.
- Operations Oversight: Manages day-to-day manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth operations and efficient use of CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other equipment.
- Quality Assurance: Establishes and enforces quality control standards, monitors output, and implements corrective actions for defects.
- Team Leadership: Supervises, trains, and motivates production staff, including machinists, operators, and supervisors, assigning tasks and managing performance.
- Resource & Budget Management: Manages production budgets, tracks costs, and optimizes resource allocation (materials, labor, machinery).
- Maintenance & Safety: Organizes preventive maintenance for machinery and ensures strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Inventory & Procurement: Collaborates with procurement to ensure timely material supply and manages inventory levels.
- Process Improvement: Identifies bottlenecks, implements lean manufacturing practices, and drives continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen).
- Reporting & Liaison: Communicates production status, issues, and results to senior management and liaises with sales, engineering, and design teams. Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Management.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of machine tools, machining processes, CNC programming, and tooling.
- Management Skills: Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
