Title: DGM / Sr. Manager Setting & Compliance
Reports to: Head – Health, Safety & Setting Head
Location: Uppugal
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct equipment inspections, monitor operational conditions, and oversee effluent treatment plants and waste handling operations specific to chemical manufacturing.
Lead comprehensive technical audits to identify gaps and ensure strict compliance with environmental regulations pertinent to the chemical industry.
Perform detailed vendor audits related to hazardous waste disposal, ensuring adherence to legal and safety standards.
Develop, advise, and implement environmental procedures aligned with chemical industry regulations.
Serve as a technical advisor on environmental issues, policies, and standards within a chemical manufacturing context.
Evaluate environmental impacts of chemical projects and recommend strategies for cleanup, reclamation, and waste management.
Evaluate and improve environmental systems, designing innovative solutions to reduce environmental footprint.
Ensure legal compliance for hazardous waste disposal and coordinate with government authorities regarding permits and environmental clearances.
Assess site compliance, update SOPs, and maintain all permits and environmental documentation.
Analyze environmental data to support decision-making and policy adjustments.
Keep abreast of updates in environmental legislation relevant to chemical manufacturing.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: B.E. in Environment or M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering. Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or diploma in industrial laws is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 12-15 years of extensive experience in environmental management within the chemical industry, particularly in hazardous waste management and ETP operations.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of ISO 14001 standards, statutory and regulatory requirements specific to chemical manufacturing.
Skills: Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to liaise effectively with government agencies and manage complex environmental compliance tasks.
