- Position: Research Trainee / Research Officer API R&D;
- Technical Director (India) / Manager API R&D;
- Job Location: Navi Mumbai Role & responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting research and development activities related to Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), including process development, reaction monitoring, documentation, technology transfer, analytical coordination, and laboratory operations in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Perform laboratory experiments for API process development and optimization.
- Execute reactions, purification, crystallization, and isolation activities under supervision.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, batch records, and experiment documentation accurately.
- Support route scouting, process improvement, and scale-up activities.
- Handle chemicals, solvents, reagents, and laboratory equipment safely.
- Coordinate with Analytical R&D; for sample analysis and interpretation of results.
- Assist in technology transfer from R&D; to pilot plant or production.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, EHS, and company SOPs.
- Prepare experimental observations, reports, and presentations.
- Participate in troubleshooting process-related issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the laboratory area.
- Support literature search, patent review, and scientific data collection Preferred candidate profile
- M.Sc (Organic Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry) in API Pharma R&D; Centre.
- Trainee: Fresher or up to 1 year experience.
- Officer: 1 to 3 years of experience in API R&D; / Process Development.
- Knowledge of organic chemistry and API synthesis.
- Understanding of reaction mechanisms and laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, IR, UV, etc.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Basic understanding of GMP/GLP practices.
- Strong learning attitude and teamwork capability.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced international pharmaceutical environment.
