Job Title: Asst Manager - Cost Control Organization: Prashanthi Balamandira Trust Location: Muddenahalli Reporting To: Karan Role Overview Prashanthi Balamandira Trust is expanding its partnerships with corporate donors and institutions, necessitating strong financial governance, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.Asst Manager– Cost Control will be responsible for/assisting in establishing and managing a robust budgetary control and costing framework across all programs. The role will focus on budgeting, variance analysis, cost optimization, and generating actionable insights such as cost per student, cost per patient,cost per meal, etc. This role will also be responsible for getting the budgets and variances approved by the board of trustees.Key Responsibilities 1. Budgeting&Financial Planning - Develop annual and periodic budgets for all departments, projects, and programs - Coordinate with department heads to prepare realistic and aligned budgets - Consolidate and present budgets for management and Board approval - Support long-term financial planning and forecasting2. Budgetary Control&Variance Analysis - Monitor actuals vs budget on a monthly/quarterly basis - Identify, analyze, and report variances with actionable insights - Establish a structured variance approval and escalation framework - Present variance reports to senior management and Board 3. Costing&Unit Economics - Design and implement costing models across the Trust - Compute and track key cost metrics such as: - Cost per student - Cost per patient / treatment - Cost per meal - Cost per outreach program - Develop cost allocation methodologies across shared services - Identify cost optimization opportunities without impacting quality4. Systems&Process Implementation - Assist the implementation of budgetary control processes within ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) - Automate budgeting, tracking, and reporting workflows - Ensure standardization of templates, formats, and approval workflows - Strengthen internal financial controls and documentation5. Audit&Compliance Support - Support due diligence audits by corporate partners and donors - Ensure readiness of budgetary and costing documentation - Align processes with expectations of CSR partners and regulatory frameworks - Strengthen transparency and accountability mechanisms 6. Stakeholder Coordination- Work closely with program heads, operations teams, and finance team - Liaise with auditors, consultants, and CSR partners when required - Train internal teams on budgeting and cost control practices 7. Team Building&Capability Development - Build and mentor a small costing and budget control team - Develop SOPs, training materials, and best practices - Drive a culture of financial discipline across the organization Key Deliverables - Annual budget approved by Board - Monthly budget vs actual reports with variance analysis and approval by the board.- Defined and tracked unit economics (cost per student, meal, etc.) - ERP-integrated budgeting and reporting system - Audit-ready documentation and dashboards Qualifications&Experience - Education: ICWA/CMA (Inter with experience or Final), CA (Inter with costing experience). - Experience: 2-5 years in costing, budgeting, or financial planning&analysis - Experience in non-profit, healthcare, education, or CSR environments preferred - Exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) Skills&Competencies - Strong analytical and financial modeling skills - Expertise in costing methodologies and variance analysis - High attention to detail and process orientation - Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills- Ethical, mission-driven mindset aligned with Trust values
