Job Description– Career Mentor (GuideXpert – Student Career Guidance Initiative) About GuideXpert GuideXpert is a student-focused career guidance platform helping students and parents make informed decisions about colleges, courses, careers, and future opportunities. Position Career Mentor– IIT Graduate We are looking for passionate and experienced IIT graduates to join GuideXpert as Career Mentors for student counselling and career guidance sessions.As a mentor, you will help students gain clarity about: Colleges&courses Career opportunities Future industry trends Engineering branches Higher education pathways Skill development&employability Your role is not just to share information— but to genuinely guide students towards the right academic and career decisions. Eligibility Criteria Graduation or Post-Graduation from an IIT is mandatory. Prior experience in EdTech, Teaching, Mentoring, or Student Counselling is preferred.Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to connect effectively with students and parents. Strong understanding of engineering education and career opportunities in India. Roles&Responsibilities Conduct weekly counselling and career guidance sessions for students and parents. Guide students in choosing the right college and course based on interests, goals, and academic background. Explain engineering streams, career opportunities, placements, higher education options, and industry relevance.Help students understand current education trends and future career growth opportunities. Deliver engaging and interactive presentations during counselling sessions. Address student and parent queries with practical insights and real-life experiences. Create awareness about future-ready skills and long-term career planning.Collaborate with the internal team to improve student engagement and counselling quality. Support students through their academic decision-making journey with a student-first approach. Preferred Skills Experience in public speaking, mentoring, or academic guidance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to simplify complex career-related topics. Confident presenter with strong audience engagement skills. Understanding of the Indian higher education ecosystem. Work Nature Approximately 3–4 counselling sessions per week. Flexible and collaborative working environment.
