JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE : Operation Manager / Production Manager DEPARTMENT : Production LOCATION : Goa REPORTS TO :* Factory Manager & Group GM* Job Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the container manufacturing process, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The role involves managing day-to-day operations, optimizing processes, leading a production team, and coordinating with other departments to achieve organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: Production Management:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the container manufacturing line.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Monitor production metrics, such as throughput, efficiency, and quality, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment. Quality Control:
- Ensure that all containers produced meet the required quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste. Process Improvement:
- Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to increase efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to reduce cycle times, eliminate bottlenecks, and optimize production flow. Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, operators, and maintenance staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
- Address any safety issues promptly and implement corrective actions. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
- Coordinate with the procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor and manage the supply chain to minimize production disruptions. Cost Control:
- Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures.
- Prepare and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising quality. Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the production team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in container manufacturing.
- Lead efforts to implement new technologies and processes in the manufacturing line. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Plastic Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in production / operations management, preferable in any packaging / moulding industries.
- Proven experience in leading mid size teams and managing complex manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Solid communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with SAP / ERP systems and production management software. Pay: ₹400,000.00
