Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced R&D; Skilled Engineering Polymers to lead recent product development, formulation development, grade optimization, and cost engineering for engineering plastic compounds.The candidate should have strong expertise in developing filled and unfilled compounds based on Polypropylene (PP), SAN, ABS, PC/ABS, Nylon (PA) and related engineering polymers. The role will focus on developing current grades, improving existing products, reducing formulation cost, and enhancing product performance for commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities Lead current product development (NPD) for engineering and commodity polymer compounds.

Develop and optimize formulations for Polypropylene (PP), SAN, ABS, PC/ABS, Nylon (PA), Filled & Unfilled Compounds

Work on grade-wise modification, cost reduction, and quality improvement of existing commercial grades.

Develop compounds using fillers, reinforcements, additives, impact modifiers, flame retardants, and color masterbatches.

Conduct material trials on twin-screw extrusion, injection molding, and compounding lines.

Analyze raw material alternatives and optimize BOM for commercial viability.

Perform material characterization and testing including:

MFI/MFR

Tensile & Impact Testing

Ash Content

Density

DSC/TGA

FTIR

Heat Deflection & Thermal Analysis

Support production troubleshooting and process optimization.

Coordinate with sales, production, quality, and customers for product validation and commercialization.

Maintain R&D; documentation, technical reports, formulations, and SOPs.

Required Qualifications PhD / M.Tech / B.Tech in Polymer Science, Material Science, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Proven years of experience in polymer compounding and engineering plastics R&D.; Strong hands-on expertise in PP Compounds, ABS Compounds, SAN, PC/ABS Alloys, Nylon Compounds, Filled & Reinforced Materials Experience in compounding technologies and formulation development is mandatory.
