The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding customer base, and building strong relationships with clients in the gold and jewellery segment. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, increasing showroom footfall, and promoting high-value jewellery products. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in retail, wholesale, and institutional segments
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, dealers, and corporate clients
- Promote gold, diamond, and customized jewellery collections
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and competitor strategies
- Coordinate with marketing teams for campaigns, exhibitions, and promotional events
- Handle high-value client interactions and ensure premium customer experience
- Track gold rate trends and educate customers accordingly
- Maintain client database and follow up for repeat business
- Assist in inventory planning based on demand trends Required Skills:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of gold, diamonds, and jewellery trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer relationship management (CRM) ability
- Basic understanding of gold pricing and market fluctuations
- Ability to work in a target-driven setting Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 1–5 years of experience in jewellery, retail, or luxury sales (preferred) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Sales revenue and target achievement
- Customer acquisition and retention rate
- Average transaction value
- Repeat business percentage
- Conversion rate (walk-ins to buyers) Work Environment:
- Retail showroom / corporate office
- May require weekend and holiday work (peak jewellery buying seasons like weddings & festivals) Optional Add-ons (if needed for your company):
