To prepares, coats, and finishes metal or plastic parts using electrostatic spray technology and curing ovens. Ensure uniform thickness, prevent overspray, and perform quality checks on finished surfaces. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and proper handling of chemicals and high-temperature equipment.

Key Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Clean, degrease, sandblast, and mask parts to ensure optimal powder adhesion and prevent coating defects. Equipment Setup: Adjust electrostatic spray guns (regulating kilovolts/kV) and maintain spray booths, filters, and hoses. Coating Application: Spray powder onto grounded parts using correct techniques to achieve even, consistent, and uniform coverage. Curing & Baking: Operate and monitor curing ovens to ensure parts are baked at the correct temperature and for the proper duration. Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for flaws (e.g., orange peel, fish eyes) and verify coating thickness using specialized gauges.

Qualifications & Requirements: Education: High school diploma, GED, or a technical diploma in a related mechanical/chemical field. Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, and ability to use measurement tools like micrometers or calipers. Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy parts, stand for extended periods, and work in environments with high heat and moving machinery. Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to OSHA or local safety standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as respirators and grounding equipment.
