- Grid Automation as an Electrical Engineering Technical Lead! In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing protection and panel design, acting as a bridge between our customers and GE’s technical community. This is an exciting opportunity to make impactful decisions, apply your expertise, and ensure the successful delivery of projects from inception to site commissioning. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Technical Projects: Drive technical project activities, lead customer kick-off meetings, and ensure successful project execution from design to commissioning.
- Customer and Project Management: Participate in project risk reviews, manage project budgets in term of man-days allocated to the engineering tasks, and provide regular progress updates.
- Design and Documentation: Analyse customer specifications, write project technical documentation, and validate technical solutions with customers.
- Technical Oversight: Specify software and IEDs, manage technical execution planning, and ensure adherence to GE Vernova safety standards.
- Issue Resolution: Address technical deviations, manage fault reports, and support site engineers remotely or on-site.
- Testing and Commissioning: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and coordinate with commissioning teams for major site milestones.
- Training and Support: Provide project-specific training to customers, support tendering and commercial teams, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional project execution. Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Background: B.E or BTech. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Over five years of control system-related experience.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Substation Automation, Communication Protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC103, IEC104), Networking concepts, Communication architecture, Database configuration, IED integration, Testing, Validation of SAS systems
- Knowledge of Protection overview & Commissioning of SAS systems would be an added advantage.
- Design Expertise: Proficient in designing and programming electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, network equipment, IEC61850, Firewalls, and more.
- GE Substation Automation Solutions: Preferred candidates will have proven knowledge in this area.
- Travel: Ability to travel globally with short periods. Desired Characteristics
- Automation and Control Systems: In-depth knowledge of automation electrical control systems, SCADA/DCS systems, and networking communication protocols.
