ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a highly experienced, self-sufficient Google Ads Expert who can own our paid search function end-to-end— without hand-holding. You will be the go-to authority on everything Google Ads: strategy, execution, optimization, and reporting. This is a senior individual contributor role that demands deep expertise, strong business judgment, and the ability to drive results independently in a fast-moving environment.WHAT YOU'LL OWN• Full ownership of Google Ads strategy across Search, Display, Shopping, Video, and Performance Max campaigns • Independent campaign planning, setup, and ongoing optimization — from brief to results — without requiring supervision • Advanced keyword strategy including match type architecture, negative keyword management, and search term analysis• Budget allocation and pacing across campaigns and accounts, maximizing ROAS and minimizing CPA • End-to-end conversion tracking setup and audits via Google Tag Manager and GA4 • Competitor analysis and market intelligence to stay ahead of auction dynamics • Ad copy development and creative testing with a structured experimentation framework• Performance reporting and analysis with proactive identification of opportunities and risks • Recommendation and implementation of new Google Ads features, betas, and best practices • Collaboration with leadership, product, and content teams — communicating clearly without needing directionREQUIREMENTS• 6+ years of hands-on Google Ads experience managing large budgets • Demonstrated ability to work independently — owning strategy and execution with minimal to no supervision • Google Ads certifications across Search, Display, Shopping, and Video • Deep expertise in Smart Bidding, audience layering, attribution models, and campaign structure best practices• Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Merchant Center • Strong analytical ability — comfortable building reports, interpreting data, and making autonomous decisions • Proven track record of measurable results: improving ROAS, reducing CPA, scaling spend profitably• Experience with keyword tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, SpyFu) and competitive intelligence • Excellent written communication skills for ad copy and stakeholder reporting • High ownership mindset — proactively identifies problems and solves them without being asked NICE TO HAVE • Prior experience leading paid media for an agency (managing multiple client accounts simultaneously)• Cross-channel expertise: Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Programmatic, or YouTube • Knowledge of SEO principles and how organic and paid strategies complement each other • Experience with e-commerce brands and advanced Google Shopping / PMax strategies • Familiarity with CRM and attribution platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, Northbeam, Triple Whale)• Experience mentoring junior marketers or writing paid media SOPs WHO YOU ARE • A self-starter who thrives without micromanagement and takes full ownership of outcomes • Proactive in identifying issues and opportunities — you don't wait to be told • Data-obsessed but also creativelysharp — you balance numbers with compelling messaging• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make confident decisions with imperfect information • Clear and concise communicator who can explain performance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
