Accountant (Maharashtra)

Location: Andheri East, Mumbai Experience: Minimum 1 years About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and diligent Junior Accountant to join the Finance & Accounts team at Gati Soft Tech. In this role, you will handle the day-to-day accounting operations using our proprietary Smart Jewel ERP platform. You will work closely under the guidance of the Senior Accountant, taking ownership of transactional accounting, reconciliations, ledger management, and client-facing financial confirmations. This role is ideal for someone who is meticulous, eager to learn, and comfortable working within an ERP-driven accounting environment. Key Responsibilities ERP-Based Accounting (Smart Jewel ERP) Perform all day-to-day accounting entries and transactions exclusively within the Smart Jewel ERP system. Maintain accurate financial records including journals, ledgers, and sub-ledgers as per company standards. Ensure data integrity and timely entry of all financial transactions in the ERP. Invoice & Purchase Management Generate and issue sales invoices to clients accurately and on time. Enter and process purchase invoices received from vendors in the ERP. Verify purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices for accuracy before processing. Coordinate with internal teams for invoice approvals and discrepancy resolution. Bank & Payment Entries Record all bank transactions including receipts, payments, transfers, and adjustments. Perform regular bank settlement entries and ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements with ERP records. Follow up on unreconciled entries and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the Senior Accountant. Ledger Management & Client Confirmation Maintain and monitor all general and subsidiary ledgers for accuracy. Conduct periodic ledger confirmations with clients to ensure statement accuracy and alignment. Dispatch balance confirmation requests to clients/vendors and follow up on responses. Reconcile client account statements and address any discrepancies promptly. General Accounting Support Assist the Senior Accountant with month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for all accounting entries. Respond to queries from internal teams regarding financial transactions. Carry out any additional accounting tasks or assignments as directed by the Senior Accountant. Required Qualifications & Skills Educational Qualification B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) or equivalent degree in Accounting or Finance. Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant accounting experience are welcome to apply. Technical Skills Proficiency in ERP-based accounting systems (prior experience with Smart Jewel ERP is a plus but not mandatory — training will be provided). Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data verification and reporting. Sound understanding of basic accounting principles (double-entry bookkeeping, debit/credit, ledger management). Familiarity with GST, TDS, and statutory compliances will be an advantage. Soft Skills High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records. Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of the Senior Accountant. Positive organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks. Clear communication skills for coordinating with clients on ledger confirmations. Proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks. Why Join Us?
