Description
Role & responsibilities : who is well versed in the technical compliances and current trends. He will also guide the team to make the system better and the requirements as per current government guidelines. Preferred candidate profile 1. Operational Efficiency & Machine Availability
- Machine Availability Rate: Maintain an equipment availability rate of 92%95% for critical production lines.
- Mean Time to Repair (MTTR): Restore failed equipment within a target benchmark of under 25 hours.
- Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF): Aim for a world-class reliability benchmark of 400+ days or 2,000+ hours depending on the specific asset class.
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE): Achieve a total OEE of 85%+ by optimizing availability, performance, and quality of shoe machinery. 2. Preventive & Proactive Maintenance :
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) Compliance: Ensure 95%+ completion of scheduled maintenance tasks for cutting, stitching, and forming machines.
- Planned Maintenance Percentage (PMP): Transition from reactive "firefighting" to a proactive model where 80%85% of maintenance hours are planned.
- Calibration Management: Perform regular calibration on precision cutting and stitching machines to ensure shape consistency and sizing accuracy. 3. Compliance, Safety, & Workplace (HSE)
- Safety Compliance Rate: Achieve a 100% audit readiness score for safety-critical checks, including emergency stops, guards, and fire alarms.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure periodic inspection of high-risk assets like pressure vessels and lifting tools by competent persons as per labor law.
- Workplace Health: Maintain dust extraction systems and ventilation to manage fabric dust and volatile chemical vapors (e.g., toluene, adhesives).
- Electrical Inspectorate Liaison: Submit annual electrical safety reports and coordinate with the state electricity board (e.g., UPCL, BESCOM) for transformer testing and load approvals.
- Environmental Compliance: Data handling for (SPCB) for "Consent to Operate" (CTO) renewals, ensuring the factorys effluent treatment meet environmental norms. 4. Cost & Inventory Management
- Maintenance Cost Control: Keep total maintenance spend within 2%–3% of the Estimated Replacement Value (ERV) of factory assets.
- Spare Parts Turnover: Maintain a turnover ratio of 2–4 per year to balance capital tie-up against the risk of stockouts for critical needles, blades, and belts.
- Energy Conservation: Implementation of energy-saving measures as required by sustainability regulations. 5. Team Leadership & Skills
- Technician Productivity (Wrench Time): Aim for 55%+ direct productive work time by reducing travel and administrative delays.
