At P.L. Robotics Pvt. Ltd., we are building the next generation of industrial robotics in India. We design and manufacture high-accuracy collaborative robots (Cobots), SCARA robots, and advanced robotic automation systems
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work closely with the robotics R&D; team on the design, development, prototyping, and validation of robotic subsystems and industrial automation products.
You will be involved throughout the complete product lifecycle: Concept development CAD modeling Mechanical simulations Prototype development Manufacturing coordination Testing & validation
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotic systems using CAD tools. Perform DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly). Create detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T; and tolerance specifications. Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for fabrication and component sourcing. Support prototype assembly, testing, and debugging. Prepare BOMs, assembly instructions, and technical documentation. Work closely with electrical and software teams for system integration. Conduct literature reviews and independent research to improve designs. Participate in robot assembly and basic QC/testing activities.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering, or related field. Robust fundamentals in Mechanics , Strength of Materials ,Manufacturing Processes, Machine Design ,Proficiency in CAD software , SolidWorks , Fusion 360. Basic understanding of FEA and simulation tools. Knowledge of GD&T; and tolerance stack-up. Understanding of DFM/DFA principles. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Self-driven attitude with willingness to learn quickly.
