Sr.Manager - Production (Pune)

Position: Production Manager Industry: Machine Tool Manufacturing Location: Pune Company Overview: We are a leading manufacturer of Machine Tools, CNC Machines, VMC Machines, and Special Purpose Machines (SPM). We are looking for a strong production leader who can independently manage shop floor operations, improve productivity, and drive manufacturing excellence. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to lead our production operations and manage complete shop floor activities. The candidate should possess robust leadership capabilities along with hands-on experience in machine tool manufacturing, production planning, assembly operations, process improvement, and team management. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling end-to-end production activities while ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and timely delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete shop floor production activities.
- Lead and supervise production teams, supervisors, and operators.
- Plan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure timely manufacturing and assembly of CNC Machines, VMC Machines, and SPMs.
- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Quality, Service, and Stores departments for smooth production flow.
- Monitor fabrication, machining, assembly, fitting, and machine testing activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within timelines and quality standards.
- Improve production efficiency, machine utilization, and manpower productivity.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Handle PPAP documentation and process implementation wherever applicable.
- Conduct FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for process improvement and risk reduction.
- Implement Kaizen, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Reduce rejection, rework, breakdowns, and production losses.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and shop floor discipline.
- Prepare production reports and update management regularly on production status.
- Resolve shop floor issues and support continuous operational improvement. Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Hands-on experience in machine tool manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of CNC/VMC machine assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of production planning and shop floor management.
- Knowledge of OEE, PPAP, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA.
- Familiarity with Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to manage fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing operations.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve production targets. Qualification
- Diploma / BE Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Experience
- Minimum 815 years of experience in Production/Manufacturing.
- Prior experience in CNC Machine, VMC Machine, Machine Tool, or SPM manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Experience in handling leadership role on shop floor is mandatory. Preferred Candidate Profile
