Description
Design and develop recent diesel engine components and systems, including but not limited to: cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, valvetrain components, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) to create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
Conduct engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs, predict performance, and identify areas for optimization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, testing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure design manufacturability, assembly, and performance.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to enhance product reliability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Investigate and resolve design-related issues, implement corrective actions, and document design changes.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in diesel engine design and manufacturing.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for design projects.
Contribute to intellectual property development through patents and trade secrets.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo).
Solid understanding of internal combustion engine theory, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
Experience with FEA andor CFD simulation tools is highly desirable.
Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, forging, machining, welding).
Familiarity with GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented team.
