The Wiring Harness Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing automotive wiring harness systems that ensure efficient electrical power and signal distribution across vehicle components. This role involves schematic design, layout development, component selection, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturable, reliable, and compliant harness solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and develop wiring harness layouts, schematics, and routing diagrams. 2. Select appropriate electrical components such as connectors, terminals, and wires. 3. Ensure compliance with automotive standards, packaging, and safety requirements. 4. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for integration. 5. Support validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of harness designs. Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering. 2. Minimum 25 years of experience in wiring harness design or automotive electrical systems. 3. Strong understanding of electrical schematics and vehicle electrical architecture. 4. Experience with wiring harness design tools such as CATIA or Capital. 5. Valuable analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience in automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment. 2. Knowledge of automotive standards such as LVDS, ISO, or OEM-specific standards. 3. Familiarity with EMC/EMI considerations in harness design. 4. Experience in 3D routing and packaging optimization. 5. Strong coordination skills with cross-functional engineering teams.
