Role Description We are looking for a skilled and innovative Robotics Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve robotic systems, mechanical assemblies, and automation solutions. The candidate should have solid knowledge of mechanical design, CAD modeling, prototyping, manufacturing processes, and robotics integration. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Robotics Design Engineer. As a Robotics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing robotic systems. This involves working with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, create, and evaluate prototypes, perform mechanical and electrical engineering tasks, refine product designs using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, and oversee end-to-end product development. Additionally, you will provide technical support, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and contribute to the enhancement of current and future product lines. Position : Robotics Design Engineer Department : Engineering / R&D; Employment Type : Full-time Location : Bengaluru Experience : 0–3 years for Junior Robotics Design Engineer Qualifications Proficiency in Design Engineering and Product Design, demonstrating innovative thinking and creativity in developing advanced robotics systems. Strong Mechanical Engineering skills for analysis, design, and optimization in crafting durable and efficient products. Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models of robotic components. Knowledge of Electrical Engineering for designing and implementing electrical systems in advanced robotic solutions. Familiarity with automation technologies, AI integration, and IoT in robotics is a significant advantage. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team of multidisciplinary experts. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines is preferred. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and structures for robotic systems. Create 2D drawings, 3D CAD models, and detailed manufacturing drawings. Work on robot chassis, frames, mounting structures, payload mechanisms, actuators, and sensor integration. Perform design calculations related to load, torque, strength, stability, and motion. Select suitable materials, motors, actuators, sensors, bearings, fasteners, and mechanical components. Coordinate with electronics, embedded, and software teams for complete robotic system integration. Build and test prototypes to validate design performance and reliability. Identify design issues and improve designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency. Support fabrication, machining, 3D printing, sheet metal, CNC, and other production processes. Prepare BOM, technical documentation, assembly instructions, and design reports. Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and production standards. Required Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical design and robotics systems. Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or Creo . Understanding of mechanisms, kinematics, dynamics, and structural design. Knowledge of motors, actuators, sensors, gears, belts, pulleys, and robotic joints. Basic understanding of electronics, controllers, and embedded systems. Experience in prototyping, fabrication, 3D printing, and manufacturing processes. Ability to create detailed engineering drawings with dimensions and tolerances. Good problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field. Experience in designing mobile robots, drones, robotic arms, AGV/AMR, automation systems, or industrial robots. Knowledge of simulation tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar. Understanding of DFM, DFA, GD&T;, and product development lifecycle.
