Purchase Head (Roorkee)

Position: Purchase Head Location: Roorkee Experience: 10+ Years Salary: As per industry standards We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Head to lead and manage the procurement function for our mining and crushing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization, with a deep understanding of the mining, crushing, and heavy equipment industry. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and project requirements. Handle end-to-end procurement of mining equipment, crushing machinery, spare parts, consumables, and services. Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors; build strong supplier relationships. Drive cost reduction initiatives, negotiations, and long-term rate contracts with vendors. Ensure timely procurement to support uninterrupted plant operations and project timelines. Implement and manage ERP-based procurement systems (SAP or similar) for process efficiency and transparency. Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with stores, and optimize stock management. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements. Lead contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and finalizing purchase agreements. Collaborate with internal departments (projects, maintenance, finance) for effective planning and execution. Track market trends, pricing, and supply risks to ensure proactive decision-making. Requirements 15+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in mining, crushing, cement, or heavy engineering industries. Strong knowledge of mining equipment, crushers, plant machinery, and industrial consumables. Proven expertise in vendor development, negotiation, and strategic sourcing. Experience in implementing and working with ERP systems (SAP or similar). Robust analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills. Good understanding of commercial terms, contracts, and supply chain processes. Ability to manage teams and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
