Job SummaryThe US Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for US-based employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role requires a strong understanding of US payroll regulations, tax compliance, and payroll systems, along with attention to detail and confidentiality.Key Responsibilities- Process bi-weekly/monthly US payroll for employees across multiple states- Ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and processed within deadlines- Maintain and validate employee data including compensation, benefits, and deductions- Handle payroll-related tax filings (federal, state, and local) and ensure compliance with US regulations- Reconcile payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly- Manage garnishments, bonuses, commissions, and off-cycle payments- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams for employee lifecycle changes (onboarding, offboarding, salary revisions)- Ensure compliance with laws such as FLSA, IRS regulations, and state-specific payroll requirements- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation- Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and skilled manner- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policiesRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field- 1-2 years of experience in US payroll processing- Strong knowledge of US payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements- Experience with payroll systems (e.G., ADP, Workday, Paychex, or similar platforms)- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)- High attention to detail and accuracy- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential informationOther Required Qualifications- Experience handling USA multi-state payroll- Familiarity with timekeeping systems and HRIS platforms- Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environmentKey Competencies- Attention to detail- Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines- Strong communication skills- Integrity and confidentiality- Problem-solving mindsetCompany Overview:Workspend is a leading global provider of contingent workforce management solutions for Fortune 500/Global 2000 clients.
