Job Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for managing and growing strategic merchant accounts for the online payment gateway business. The role involves both hunting (acquiring new merchants) and farming (managing and growing existing accounts) to drive revenue and strengthen long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Hunting Current Business Acquisition Identify and acquire current merchants for the online payment gateway platform. Develop and execute strategies to onboard high-value e-commerce merchants. Build a solid pipeline through prospecting, networking, and market research. Conduct product presentations and negotiate commercial terms. Coordinate with onboarding and technical teams to ensure smooth merchant integration. Farming Account Management Growth Manage and nurture relationships with existing key merchant accounts. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities such as additional payment solutions, value-added services, or new integrations. Monitor merchant performance, transaction volumes, and revenue growth. Resolve merchant queries and collaborate with internal teams for service delivery. Ensure high merchant satisfaction and retention. Revenue Performance Management Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets. Track merchant transaction trends and identify opportunities for growth. Prepare account plans and periodic business reviews with merchants. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with product, operations, integration, and risk teams to support merchant requirements. Provide market feedback to improve products and services.
Qualifications Skills
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field. 37 years of experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, or SaaS sales. Strong experience in B2B sales and key account management.
