Senior Service Engineer (Bihar)

Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Motor OD Claims Job Purpose: To conduct field-based motor (automobile) OD claim surveys, assess losses accurately, and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure timely and effective claim settlement while maintaining high standards of customer service. Key Responsibilities 1. Conduct field surveys for Motor (Automobile) Own Damage (OD) claims and carry out detailed loss assessment in accordance with company guidelines and policy terms. 2. Coordinate with insured customers to collect requisite claim documents, explain claim assessment outcomes, and facilitate smooth claim processing. 3. Monitor and manage the end-to-end process flow of allotted claims, from claim registration through final settlement. 4. Liaise with repairers/workshops for claim settlement, approval coordination, and payment reconciliation. 5. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers, workshops, and other service partners. 6. Provide regular and timely ground-level feedback, market insights, and operational inputs to the Branch and Zonal Teams to support service improvement and decision-making. Mandatory Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of automobiles; prior body shop or repair workshop experience is highly preferred.
- Sound understanding of the general insurance industry, particularly motor insurance and claims processes.
- Knowledge of competitive practices and claim assessment methodologies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer operations with hands-on experience in claim systems and documentation. Desirable Skills 1. Robust communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. 2. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments and business requirements. 3. Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 4. Good analytical ability with strong problem-solving skills. 5. Awareness and working knowledge of the local/regional language. Education / Qualifications
