Rigging Engineer (Bihar)

Role & responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and monitor all rigging and lifting activities at project sites in accordance with approved lifting plans and safety standards.
- Ensure protected operation of cranes, hoists, lifting tools, tackles, and heavy lifting equipment during construction and maintenance activities.
- Prepare and review lifting plans, load calculations, risk assessments, and method statements for critical and heavy lifting operations.
- Inspect lifting equipment such as wire ropes, slings, shackles, hooks, turnbuckles, chain blocks, spreader beams, and lifting accessories before use.
- Ensure all lifting tools and equipment are certified, color coded, and inspected as per statutory and client requirements.
- Verify crane setup, ground stability, outrigger placement, safe working load (SWL), and lifting radius before lifting activities.
- Monitor critical lifting operations including tandem lifting, heavy equipment erection, structural erection, and shutdown activities.
- Ensure implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), barricading, exclusion zones, and safe lifting practices at site.
- Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, supervisors, and EHS teams to ensure safe execution of lifting activities.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety training related to rigging, signaling, lifting operations, and material handling activities.
- Ensure proper use of PPEs and fall protection systems during lifting and rigging activities.
- Investigate lifting-related incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records related to lifting equipment inspection, third-party certificates, lifting plans, and safety compliance documents.
