Job Title: Mechanical CAD Designer Job Description This role focuses on designing and developing mechanical components and systems using Creo Parametric, with a strong emphasis on 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings. The Mechanical CAD Designer supports mechanical product development projects by creating robust designs in sheet metal, fabrication, casting, and machined components while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, GD&T, and change management processes. Responsibilities Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings in Creo Parametric for mechanical product development projects. Develop sheet metal, fabricated, casting, and machined components in accordance with established design and engineering standards.Prepare accurate engineering drawings with appropriate GD&T to support manufacturing and quality requirements. Manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical assemblies and components. Support engineering change implementation by updating CAD models, drawings, and BOMs based on approved change requests. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and alignment with project requirements.Ensure all design deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within defined project timelines. Utilize PDM systems such as Windchill or similar tools to manage CAD data, revisions, and documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices, templates, and CAD standards within the team.Essential Skills 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical CAD Design using Creo Parametric. Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailing of mechanical components and systems. Hands-on experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, casting, and industrial product design. Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with BOM management and engineering change processes. Familiarity with Windchill or other Product Data Management (PDM) systems. B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with engineering teams to deliver accurate and timely design outputs.Additional Skills&Qualifications Experience designing HVAC-related mechanical assemblies and components. Exposure to machined component design and manufacturing considerations. Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and best practices in mechanical design. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality design documentation.Capability to adapt to evolving project requirements and support multiple projects simultaneously. Work Environment The Mechanical CAD Designer works in a professional engineering environment focused on mechanical product development, utilizing Creo Parametric and PDM tools such as Windchill to manage 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs. The role typically follows standard office hours, with collaboration across engineering teams to meet project timelines and deliver high-quality design outputs.
