This position will focus on new controls engineering development as well as enhancement of existing solutions. This position requires the ability to work under minimal direction in collaboration with a team of engineers to design and develop robust system solutions that meet defined system requirements.We are seeking a Controls Engineering expert, who will be a key contributor and hand-on in the design, development and implementation controls engineering solution, working with global experts and System architects. This position will focus on new development of firmware as well as enhancement of existing applications. This position requires the ability to work under minimal direction, Partner with: Systems Integration Engineers, AI/ML teams, Modeling&simulation teams and platform teams. Key Responsibilities Controls Integration&ModelBased Verification Integrate digital twin plant and equipment models with control algorithms to support closedloop simulation and validation. Execute ModelintheLoop (MIL) and SoftwareintheLoop (SIL) simulations as a core responsibility to verify control behavior against realistic plant dynamics.Extend verification to HardwareintheLoop (HIL) where required to support lab and field validation. Ensure models are controlrelevant, stable, and suitable for verification, sequencing validation, and performance assessment. Work closely with ECAT / equipment engineering teams and external partners (e.g., national labs, external vendors, research institutions such as Lawrence Berkeley–type organizations) to incorporate validated component and system models.Tools, Platforms&Workflows Develop multidomain models using Modelicabased tools (e.g., Dymola or equivalent) and support model exchange and integration (e.g., FMU/FMI workflows). Use MATLAB/Simulink (or equivalent) for control logic development, integration, and verification where applicable. Establish repeatable workflows for model calibration, verification, and deployment across QLIQ use cases.Collaborate with AI/ML teams to provide physicsbased priors and validate AI outputs against physical constraints.
