**: Senior Accountant Company: Minchy’s Department: Accounts & Finance Location: Shoghi, Shimla Reporting To: Management / Directors Team Responsibility: Lead and supervise a team of 3 accountants Employment Type: Full-time Annual CTC: ₹3.60 LPA to ₹4.80 LPA, depending on experience and final assessment Role Summary Minchy’s is looking for a capable and disciplined Senior Accountant to lead the accounts function and supervise a team of three accountants. The role requires strong command over TallyPrime, GST, TDS, inventory accounting, financial reporting, debtor-creditor control, audit preparation, and MIS reporting. The candidate will be responsible not only for maintaining accurate accounts but also for improving financial discipline across the company by providing clear, timely, and useful information to senior management for better decision-making. Key Responsibilities 1. Team Leadership and Daily Work Management The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the daily work of the accounts team. This includes allocating tasks to junior accountants, setting daily and weekly deadlines, reviewing pending work, ensuring timely completion of entries, and maintaining accountability within the team. The candidate must regularly check the work done by junior accountants and data entry operators, identify mistakes, correct errors, and ensure that entries are accurate, complete, and properly supported by documents. 1. Accounting and Bookkeeping The candidate will oversee complete accounting in TallyPrime, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, debit notes, credit notes, production entries, expenses, loans, advances, GST, TDS, and statutory ledgers. The role will also include ensuring proper ledger classification, monthly closing of accounts, reconciliation of accounts, and maintaining clean books for management review and audit purposes. 1. Financial Reporting and MIS The Senior Accountant will prepare regular reports for management, including:
- Monthly profit and loss summary
- Sales reports by product, category, customer, and salesman
- Purchase and expense summaries
- Debtor and creditor ageing reports
- Cash flow and fund requirement reports
- GST payable and input credit reports
- Stock summary and stock variance reports
- Factory-wise or company-wise financial summaries, wherever required The candidate must help senior management make better business decisions through accurate financial information, timely reporting, and practical analysis. 1. GST, TDS and Statutory Compliance The candidate will be responsible for GST reconciliation, GSTR data checking, e-way bill and e-invoice reconciliation, TDS coordination, and maintaining statutory records. The candidate will also coordinate with CA, consultants, auditors, and management for income tax, ROC, audit, GST, and other compliance-related matters. 1. Inventory and Manufacturing Accounting Since Minchy’s is a manufacturing business, the candidate must understand stock movement, raw material consumption, packing material consumption, finished goods, WIP, production entries, and stock reconciliation. The candidate will coordinate with factory and store teams to ensure that Tally stock, physical stock, and factory records are properly reconciled. 1. Debtors, Creditors and Payment Control The candidate will monitor customer outstanding, prepare debtor ageing, follow up with the sales team for overdue payments, reconcile customer and vendor ledgers, and prepare supplier payment schedules based on due dates and fund availability. No payment should be released without proper invoice, approval, GST compliance, and supporting documents. 1. Bank, Cash and Fund Management The role includes daily bank reconciliation, cash book checking, verification of cash balances, monitoring receipts and payments, preparing fund requirement reports, and maintaining records of loans, interest, bank charges, limits, and repayment schedules. 1. Payroll and Staff Accounts The candidate will supervise salary working, attendance deductions, staff advances, reimbursements, incentives, TA/DA, bonus calculations, and salary payment records in coordination with HR/admin. 1. Audit and Documentation The candidate will prepare documents for statutory audit, GST audit, bank audit, stock audit, and internal management review. All invoices, vouchers, ledgers, bank statements, GST returns, salary records, statutory challans, and supporting documents must be properly filed and maintained. Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of TallyPrime
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, accounting, and manufacturing accounts
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to lead and review the work of junior accountants
- Ability to prepare MIS and financial reports for management
- Practical understanding of inventory, production, stock movement, and costing
- Strong documentation and filing discipline
- Ability to manage deadlines and daily task allocation
- Honest, detail-oriented, disciplined, and confidential with financial data Preferred Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in FMCG, food processing, manufacturing, distribution, or trading preferred
- Experience handling GST, TDS, payroll, stock, audit, and Tally-based accounting independently
- Experience supervising a small accounts team will be preferred Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com preferred
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA Finance will be an added advantage
