Machine Shop Manager (Howrah)

Job Summary The Machine Shop Manager is responsible for managing overall machine shop operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, machine utilization, manpower efficiency, and timely delivery. The role involves supervising CNC and conventional machining activities while driving productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Production Management
- Plan and monitor daily production activities in the machine shop.
- Ensure achievement of production targets as per schedule.
- Optimize machine utilization and reduce idle time.
- Monitor cycle times and improve productivity. Shop Floor Supervision
- Supervise CNC/VMC/HMC, lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding operations.
- Ensure proper machine setup and process adherence.
- Coordinate with production planning and maintenance teams. Manpower Handling
- Manage operators, setters, supervisors, and technicians.
- Allocate manpower based on workload and priorities.
- Train employees on machining processes and safety practices. Quality Assurance
- Ensure products meet engineering drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and corrective actions.
- Minimize rejection, rework, and process deviations. Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure tooling, fixtures, and machines are maintained properly.
- Monitor machine health and downtime. Process Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM activities.
- Improve setup time, machining efficiency, and process flow.
- Reduce production cost and wastage. Safety & Compliance
- Maintain shop floor discipline and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF procedures and SOPs.
- Conduct regular safety checks and audits. Pay: ₹50,000.00
