Accounts Executive - Ecommerce (Howrah)

Accounts Executive E-commerce (Ajanta Shoes India Pvt. Ltd.) Department: Finance & Accounts Location: Kolkata (Head Office) Reporting To: Finance Manager / Accounts Manager Salary Offered: 35,000/- to 40,000/- (In hand) Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Executive with experience in the e-commerce industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, accounts payable and receivable, bank and marketplace reconciliations, vendor payments, customer settlements, and financial reporting. Experience with online marketplaces, payment gateways, GST compliance, and reconciliation processes is preferred. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Manage customer invoicing and collections.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on pending payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Record marketplace settlements from platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, etc.
- Track payment gateway receipts and deductions. Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Verify purchase orders, invoices, and payment approvals.
- Maintain vendor ledgers and reconcile supplier statements.
- Coordinate with procurement and operations teams regarding payment schedules. Accounts Reconciliations
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile e-commerce marketplace settlements and payment gateway transactions.
- Match sales, returns, refunds, commissions, and logistics charges with accounting records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transactions and ledgers. General Accounting
- Pass journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain GST/TDS records and support statutory compliance.
- Prepare MIS reports and financial summaries for management.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records. Coordination & Compliance
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Support finance audits and internal control processes. Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com preferred).
- 4–6 years of accounting experience in e-commerce.

- GST and TDS
- E-commerce accounting processes
- Proficiency in Tally or ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reconciliation sheets)
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Experience
- Experience handling Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, Myntra, or other marketplace reconciliations.
