Reports To: Regional Sales Manager

Team: Medical Representatives (MRs)

Location: (Specify Area/Territory)

Experience: 10-12 Years in Pharma Sales (Minimum 1-2 Years as FirstLine Manager )

Role Overview

The Area Manager (AM) will lead a team of Medical Representatives to achieve sales targets, drive prescription growth, and strengthen brand presence across the assigned area.

This role demands solid field coaching, scientific selling skills, and disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Sales Achievement Business Growth
- Deliver monthly and quarterly sales targets for assigned brands
- Ensure consistent prescription generation through effective doctor coverage
- Drive market share growth and territory expansion
- Develop area-wise business plans and execution strategies
- Team Leadership Field Coaching
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Medical Representatives
- Conduct joint fieldwork and provide on-the-job coaching
- Ensure adherence to call averages, coverage plans, and reporting discipline
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and capability assessments
- Doctor Market Development
- Strengthen relationships with key doctors, hospitals, and chemists
- Plan and execute CMEs, doctor engagement programs, and brand-building activities
- Ensure product availability through coordination with stockists and distributors
- Identify new opportunities and high-potential prescribers
- Execution Excellence Compliance
- Ensure implementation of marketing strategies and brand campaigns
- Monitor competitor activities and provide actionable insights
- Maintain accurate MIS, sales reports, and market intelligence
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and ethical promotion guidelines

Required Skills Competencies

- Strong leadership and team-handling capability
- Excellent communication and scientific selling skills
- Territory planning and analytical ability
- High discipline, ownership, and execution focus
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/reporting tools

Education Experience

- Graduate in Science/Pharmacy preferred
- 10-12 years of pharma sales experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of first-line manager experience
- Strong exposure to the local market and key specialities
