We take active trade positions with back-to-back buy sell arrangements while collaborating with 3PL service providers, establishing operational quality control SOPs, and offering multiple payment solutions.Role OverviewThe Trader will be responsible for driving trading operations and business growth across key metal and raw material categories including Pellet, Sponge Iron, Silico Manganese, Manganese Ore, Billets, Pig Iron.The incumbent will play a critical role in market development, customer acquisition, supplier management, pricing strategy, and profitability enhancement within the assigned region.Key ResponsibilitiesTrading & Business Development- Identify and develop profitable trading opportunities in the metals and steel raw materials market.
- Build and manage a strong network of buyers, suppliers, manufacturers, rolling mills, and channel partners across the eastern region.
- Drive volume growth and profitability across the assigned product portfolio.
- Develop new markets and expand customer base through strategic relationship management.Commercial Strategy- Monitor market trends, pricing movements, demand-supply dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Develop effective procurement and sales strategies aligned with market conditions.
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, pricing, and payment structures with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure optimum margins while maintaining long-term business relationships.Market Intelligence- Track fluctuations in commodity prices, logistics costs, and regional market developments.
- Generate actionable market insights for leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and market disruptions proactively.Relationship Management- Build strong credibility and trust with key industry stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless order execution.
- Resolve commercial issues, disputes, and operational bottlenecks effectively.Operational Excellence- Ensure timely execution of trades, dispatches, collections, and documentation.
- Maintain high standards of compliance, commercial discipline, and business ethics.
- Drive strong receivables management and working capital optimization.Desired Candidate ProfileExperience- 5–12 years of experience in trading, sales, procurement, or commercial roles within metals, steel, minerals, or commodity trading industries.
- Strong exposure to products such as Pellet, Sponge Iron, Billets, Pig Iron, Ferro Alloys, or Manganese products preferred.Skills & Competencies- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability.
- Deep understanding of metals and commodity markets.
- Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic trading setting.
- Strong analytical and decision-making ability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong ownership orientation.Education- Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.
