Quality Surveyor / Quality Engineer – Civil Project Job Title Quality Surveyor (Civil) / Quality Engineer Department Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Reports To QA/QC Manager / Project Manager Job Summary The Quality Surveyor is responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, approved drawings, contract requirements, and applicable codes. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring construction quality, maintaining quality records, and coordinating with site teams to achieve the required quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Inspection
- Conduct inspections of civil works including excavation, foundations, concrete works, masonry, plastering, structural works, finishing works, and infrastructure works.
- Verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Monitor workmanship and materials used on site.
- Prepare and review Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs). Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection records, checklists, test reports, and quality registers.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive action reports.
- Ensure proper filing and traceability of quality records.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports. Material Quality Assurance
- Inspect incoming construction materials and verify compliance with approved material submittals.
- Coordinate material testing with approved laboratories.
- Review material certificates, test reports, and compliance documents. Testing & Compliance
- Witness and monitor field and laboratory tests such as:
- Concrete slump tests
- Cube compressive strength tests
- Soil compaction tests
- Reinforcement inspections
- Asphalt and pavement tests
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as IS Codes, ASTM, BS, ACI, or project-specific requirements. Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and site engineers regarding quality matters.
- Participate in quality meetings and site audits.
- Assist project teams in resolving quality issues and implementing corrective actions. Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Monitor quality performance indicators.
- Recommend improvements to construction processes and quality systems. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Certification in QA/QC, ISO 9001 or related quality management systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and testing procedures. Experience
- 2–10 years of experience in QA/QC for civil construction projects.
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or high-rise projects preferred. Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant construction codes and standards.
- Positive reporting and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Compliance with project quality requirements.
- Reduction in NCRs and rework.
- Timely completion of inspections and documentation.
- Successful completion of quality audits.
- Achievement of project quality objectives. Working Conditions
- Primarily site-based with regular inspections and coordination meetings.
- May require travel between project locations and extended working hours during critical project phases. Pay: ₹30,000.00
- ₹35,000.00 per month Benefits
