Job Title: Tea Taster & Current Product Development (NPD) Specialist Industry: Tea / FMCG Experience: 2–5 Years Reporting To: Head – Quality / R&D; / Senior Management Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Tea Taster & NPD Specialist to ensure consistent product quality and drive innovation in our tea portfolio. The role involves professional tea tasting, quality evaluation, and development of new blends/products aligned with market trends, including herbal, wellness, fitness-oriented, instant tea, and cold brew tea segments. Key Responsibilities: 1. Tea Tasting & Quality Control:
- Conduct professional tea tasting (liquor evaluation) for quality assessment and consistency
- Analyze aroma, flavor, color, and overall cup profile
- Approve raw materials and finished products based on company standards
- Maintain tasting records and detailed quality reports using reporting tools. 2. New Product Development (NPD):
- Develop new tea blends and products based on market demand and trends.
- Focus on herbal, wellness, fitness-based, instant tea, and cold brew tea product development.
- Experiment with different origins, grades, and blending techniques.
- Work closely with procurement and production teams for product trials.
- Standardize recipes and formulations for commercial production. 3. Market & Innovation:
- Study market trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences
- Introduce innovative blends (premium, flavoured, specialty, herbal, wellness, cold brew teas, etc.).
- Support product positioning and branding with technical inputs
- Integrate health, wellness, and fitness trends into product innovation. 4. Coordination & Reporting:
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams for product feedback and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Maintain documentation for all NPD and quality processes.
- Prepare and present reports using MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Candidate Profile:
- 2–5 years of experience as a Tea Taster / Tea Blender / Quality Specialist
- Strong sensory evaluation skills and knowledge of tea varieties (CTC, Orthodox, Green, Specialty)
- Understanding of herbal, wellness, fitness-based, instant tea, and cold brew tea products is required.
- Experience in tea blending and product development
- Knowledge of tea sourcing and quality parameters
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Ayurveda will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint) and reporting tools. Compensation & Benefits:
