Role & responsibilities
- Perform hands-on incoming material inspection and testing (Engineering plastics molding, sheet metal fabrication, consumables, hardware, packing materials).
- Ensure on-time lot clearance at IGI post gate entry.
- Drive supplier escalation for rejected lots and ensure timely closure.
- Accountability for supplier audits and quality compliance activities.
- Monitor and implement CAPA for quality issues.
- Maintain and track rejected material at IGI and in-process rejection with proper disposition.
- Prepare, update, and ensure adherence to SOPs and Work Instructions (WI).
- Preparation of Inspection & Testing Plans (ITP) and test schedules for incoming materials and products.
- Generate MIS reports and maintain accurate data records.
- Participate in CFT discussions and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Operate SAP for transactions, tracking, and reporting.
- Handle materials and conduct product evaluation.
- Work on optical interconnect products and related testing methods.
- Maintain lab documentation, calibration status, and compliance records.
- Support failure analysis and technical reporting.
- Hands-on experience in First Article Inspection (FAI) as per drawing dimensions and specifications. Preferred candidate profile
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Plastic engg. or Mechanical or Electronics and telecommunications
- 25 years of relevant experience in testing/quality (preferably in optical/telecom domain)
- Positive understanding of optical components and testing instrument
