We are looking for a Highly skilled Engineer II, Product Development to support the sustaining and new product development for fiber connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues, and recommend and document effective solutions. How You'll Help Us Connect the World: Engineering Expertise
- Create documentation of product requirements based on industry standards.
- Create designs of new components and assemblies.
- Create documentation to support the release of current and modified products.
- Support the optical and mechanical testing of fiber optic products.
- Work with Manufacturing on process development and introductions of new products into Manufacturing.
- Perform data analysis and evaluation.
- Leads and maintains project scopes, tracks Product Development projects, and ensures timely completion of project timelines and milestones.
- Conducts Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to assess product criticality and ensure design robustness.
- Review and approve product design and engineering change documentation for conformance to company, customer, agency and industry specifications and standards Collaboration and Communication
- Accountable to Engineering Management in support of the business unit growth objectives.
- Collaboration with current staff which includes other engineers and technicians in team
- Collaborates with global design centers and manufacturing sites to resolve design and manufacturing issues, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
- Develop awareness of corporate, business unit and quality management system documentation.
- Develop awareness of relevant industry standards for fiber optic products
- Develop awareness of the range of lab test equipment.
- Develop knowledge of fiber optic products and technical principals.
- Develop knowledge of engineering tools such as LEAN and/or 6-sigma, DMAIC or other improvement process, DoE, FMEA, MSA, uncertainty Process Excellence
- Ensures seamless design, documentation, and product change management processes.
- Shares best practices and knowledge with global manufacturing sites, promoting standardization and efficiency. Key Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Solid knowledge and skilled user of 3D CAD software.
- Solid knowledge of Product Development Process
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of design for manufacturing for sheet metal & Plastic components
- Skilled at planning and ability to pay attention to details.
- Ability to effectively work within a team environment. Required Qualifications for Consideration: Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7years of relevant experience in product development. Proficiency in leading CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD. Should demonstrate strong knowledge of 2D drafting and GD&T;, tolerance stack-up analysis, sustaining engineering principles. Familiarity with PLM systems like SAP, ECTR, and Windchill, along with simulation tools such as FEA, ANSYS Workbench, and LS-DYNA, is highly desirable. You Will Excite Us If You Have:
- Experience with design/test of fiber optic connectors and cable assemblies as per international and Domestic standards (TIA-EIA-568B, GR-326, etc).
- CREO/CAD experience
