Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Design Engineer to lead engineering design for Solar, BESS, and EHV Substation projects across India and international regions (Europe, Middle East, Africa). The role involves defining design strategy, overseeing grading, roads, drainage, and site layouts, and leading structural design reviews for foundations, buildings, and balance-of-plant structures in compliance with IS, IRC, IEC, Eurocode, BS, and AHJ requirements. The position requires strong technical leadership—guiding design engineers, reviewing complex analyses, coordinating with geotechnical, electrical, and client teams, and supporting design reviews, bid proposals, and statutory submissions. They will ensure high-quality, constructible, and compliant civil and structural deliverables while maintaining QA/QC standards and driving engineering excellence. Core Responsibilities Civil Design – Site Planning, Grading & Drainage Lead and own the civil engineering design for Solar, BESS, and EHV Substation projects across India and international regions (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Oversee preparation and technical quality of grading plans, internal road layouts, civil infrastructure plans, drainage systems, and stormwater management designs. Guide and validate road geometry, corridor modelling, plan-profile development, and ensure compliance with IRC, IS, and regional standards. Structural & Foundation Design Lead structural design reviews for equipment foundations, RCC and steel structures, control rooms, SCADA buildings, cable trenches, and balance-of-plant structures. Perform complex engineering reviews including structural calculations, hydrology models, foundation load checks, reinforcement detailing, pavement design, and civil and structural analyses. Buildings & Fire Protection Oversee preparation and review of architectural, RCC, steel, and structural drawings for buildings such as control rooms, SCADA buildings, and other BOP or fire-protection-related structures. Coordination, BOQ & Technical Support Act as the primary technical interface with clients, consultants, geotechnical teams, electrical teams, vendors, and contractors. Lead client meetings, design reviews, technical clarifications, and provide civil and structural engineering inputs for bid proposals. Oversee preparation of SWPPP, E&S; Plans, drainage reports, stormwater calculations, and civil documentation required for statutory approvals. Quality Assurance & Site Support Ensure all deliverables—including grading, foundation, road, drainage, and building drawings—meet technical standards, constructability expectations, and QA/QC requirements. Provide technical supervision, task allocation, and performance oversight to Assistant Managers and design engineers, ensuring consistent, high-quality, and timely delivery. Train and upskill junior engineers through technical guidance, design review support, and structured learning programs. Design Review & Code Compliance Define design strategy, technical approach, and design criteria based on AHJ requirements, site conditions, geotechnical findings, and client specifications. Ensure project designs comply fully with IS, IRC, IEC, Eurocodes, BS, and regional AHJ requirements across India and the EMEA regions. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required). Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (preferred). Additional certifications in structural analysis, hydrology, or project management are advantageous. Technical Skills and Experience Software Proficiency STAAD.Pro, STAAD Foundation Advanced SAFE, RISA 3D, RISA Foundation (or equivalent structural platforms used in EMEA) LPILE, SPMats AutoCAD, Civil 3D Hilti PROFIS Engineering Exposure to hydrology and drainage modelling tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, or CivilStorm Renewable Energy Systems: Understanding of solar PV, BESS, and substation civil/structural design requirements for India and EMEA markets. Familiarity with site development practices, grading, drainage, and permitting standards in India, Middle East, and Africa. Knowledge of AHJ‑specific requirements and compliance with IS, IRC, IEC, Eurocodes, and BS standards. Experience 4–6 years of civil and structural design experience in solar, BESS, substation, industrial, or infrastructure projects across India and/or EMEA regions. Strong experience in structural analysis and design for RCC and steel systems, foundation engineering, hydrology, and site development. Demonstrated capability in reviewing and delivering civil and structural design packages in compliance with regional standards and regulatory frameworks. Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Project Management experience a plus. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion. Technical understanding of clean energy business processes Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
