Microsoft Fabric Developer / Data Engineer (Gujarat)

Position: Microsoft Fabric Developer / Data Engineer Experience: 6+ Years No. of Positions: 2 Location: Ahmedabad / Hyderabad (Remote is also an option) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Migration Specialist focused on migrating Fabric and Power BI assets to a target-state Microsoft Fabric platform. This role is critical across the discovery, architecture setup, and migration execution phases, and requires close collaboration with Microsoft Support and/or the selected implementation partner. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI migrations, strong assessment capabilities, and the ability to execute and validate complex data platform transitions. Key Responsibilities 1. Migration Discovery & Assessment (Critical) Lead the discovery phase for existing assets, including: Power BI reports, datasets, and semantic models Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Pipelines Dataflows Gen1 / Gen2 Assess: Source platforms (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure SQL, etc.) Data volumes, refresh schedules, lineage, and dependencies Security models and tenant-level configurations Identify migration risks, gaps, dependencies, and optimization opportunities. 2. Fabric & Power BI Migration Execution Execute and validate migration of: Power BI reports and datasets to Microsoft Fabric Direct Lakeenabled semantic models Lakehouse and Warehouse objects Perform: Dataset refactoring (Import mode to Direct Lake) Data model optimization Post-migration performance tuning and validation 3. Architecture, Governance & Collaboration Collaborate closely with: Microsoft Support teams Selected Fabric migration vendors/partners Contribute to: Target-state Fabric architecture design Migration runbooks, standards, and best practices Governance, security, and operational guidelines Support knowledge transfer and ensure adherence to enterprise standards.
