Job Title: Assistant Professor – Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) Department: Computer Science / School of Engineering & Technology Reports To: Head of Department / Dean / Director Job Summary: The Assistant Professor in Computer Science (AI) will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and related areas, conducting research, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development and institutional growth. Key Responsibilities: Academic Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/postgraduate courses in: Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Deep Learning Data Science Natural Language Processing Computer Vision Python Programming / R Programming Database Management Systems Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, assignments, and assessments. Conduct practical laboratory sessions and project guidance. Evaluate student performance through exams, presentations, and continuous assessment. Mentor students for academic and career development. Research & Development: Conduct quality research in AI and emerging technologies. Publish research papers in reputed journals/conferences (Scopus / UGC Care / SCI indexed). Apply for funded research projects, grants, patents, and consultancy assignments. Participate in FDPs, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Institutional Responsibilities: Assist in curriculum design and revision as per industry trends / NEP guidelines. Participate in accreditation work (NAAC / NBA / AICTE / UGC compliance). Organize workshops, hackathons, seminars, and guest lectures on AI technologies. Support admission counseling, placement activities, and university events. Undertake administrative responsibilities assigned by management. Required Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science / IT M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science / AI / Data Science (Mandatory) Ph.D. in relevant discipline (Preferred / As per UGC-AICTE norms) NET / SET qualification as applicable under UGC norms. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and frameworks. Hands-on experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) is desirable. Robust teaching, communication, and mentoring skills. Research orientation and publication record preferred. Experience: 0–3 years (Fresh PhD / Industry exposure preferred) for entry-level Assistant Professor. Teaching / Research / Industry experience in AI domain will be an added advantage.
