Lab assistant (Assam)

- Perform routine and specialized tests on bitumen and bitumen-based products to ensure quality standards.
- Utilize laboratory equipment such as viscometers, softening point testers, and penetration testers to analyze physical properties of bitumen.
- Conduct tests on various types of bitumen including penetration grade, modified bitumen, and emulsion to assess performance characteristics.
- Assist in quality control by monitoring consistency of bitumen products and reporting any deviations from the standard.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
- Accurately record and document test results for future reference and reporting purposes.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working order; report any malfunctions or damage to the supervisor and coordinate repairs.
- Perform routine checks on laboratory tools and instruments to guarantee accurate and reliable test results.
- Follow strict laboratory safety protocols and procedures while handling chemicals, equipment, and bitumen samples, ensuring a clean and organized lab environment adhering to EHS guidelines and maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tests, observations, and procedures, preparing detailed reports summarizing test results and providing insights into product quality, assisting in data analysis and interpretation, and recommending improvements if necessary.
- Support the R&D; team in developing recent bitumen formulations and product improvements. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma) or B.Sc.
- Possess strong knowledge of bitumen testing, quality control, and laboratory equipment operations.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with bitumen quality standards and routine laboratory maintenance is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow strict safety protocols.
