The Senior ELV Design Engineer leads the design, coordination, and technical delivery of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for complex building and infrastructure projects.
The role involves overseeing ELV design development from concept to IFC, ensuring compliance with international standards, managing junior engineers, and coordinating with clients, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
Design Leadership Lead the design of ELV systems including: Structured Cabling (ICT, Data & Voice) CCTV & Video Management Systems Access Control & Security Management Systems Intrusion Detection Systems Public Address & Voice Alarm (PA/VA) IPTV, SMATV, MATV Intercom, Nurse Call & Emergency Communication Systems Parking Management & Guidance Systems Integration with BMS and other smart building platforms Develop design concepts, system architecture, and design narratives.
Review and approve drawings, calculations, and technical documents prepared by junior engineers.
Technical & Documentation Prepare and review: Detailed design drawings and IFC packages Technical specifications and performance requirements BOQs, cost estimates, and value engineering proposals Ensure ELV designs align with project budget, schedule, and performance requirements.
Coordination & Authority Liaison Coordinate ELV designs with Architectural, Structural, MEP, IT, and Security stakeholders.
Lead technical meetings with clients, authorities, and consultants.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards such as NFPA, IEC, ISO, EN, TIA/EIA, BICSI, and local authority regulations.
Support authority submissions, approvals, and design clarifications.
Project & Site Support Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
Review contractor submittal, method statements, and shop drawings.
Conduct site inspections and resolve design-related issues.
Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and final handover documentation.
Team & Knowledge Management Mentor and guide junior ELV engineers and designers.
Support standardisation of ELV design practices and templates.
Stay updated on emerging ELV technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements Education Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
Experience Minimum 710 years of ELV design experience.
Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, or infrastructure projects.
Experience working with consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering firms is preferred.
Technical Skills Expert knowledge of ELV systems, standards, and system integration.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM coordination experience preferred.
Strong capability in preparing specifications, BOQs, and technical reports.
Familiarity with leading ELV manufacturers and platforms.

1-3 years Diploma/Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or relevant AV/ELV background.
3–6 years of experience in AV commissioning or integration.
Hands-on experience with Logitech, Cisco, Poly, Barco, Crestron, Kramer, or Extron systems.
Knowledge of network and IP-based AV deployments.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Industry certifications (e.g. CTS, Crestron/Extron certifications) are a plus.
